When a large export is required, it can make sense to divide it into several smaller exports.
What should be considered during the implementation?
We recommend splitting a ‘large’ ITscope export into several smaller exports.
Please consider the contract-dependent limit per export for all combinations of data formats and export formats.
The following article elaborates on these limits in more detail: https://guide.itscope.com/en/kb/api-limitations/
When setting up a data export, the export split should not be made at supplier level, but at product selection level.
For example, the following distribution of exports according to category would be advisable:
- One export with X suppliers for “Printers” and a separate one (with the same suppliers) for “Printer accessories”
- One export with X suppliers for “Mobile phones” and a separate one (with the same suppliers) for “Mobile phone accessories”
- One export with X suppliers for “Notebook” and “Tablet” and a separate one (with the same suppliers) for “Notebook accessories”.
We do not recommend splitting exports by supplier, as a product that appears in a product selection from one export with supplier X can also appear in the other export for supplier Y ( therefore it will be exported twice/multiple times).
For example:
- One export with supplier X for “Printer” and another export with supplier Y for “Printer”
–> In this case, it is possible that a product is included in both exports because supplier X and supplier Y both offer it.
