2FA – FAQ

I am not receiving any Exact emails – what do I do?

In some cases, there may be a delay in receiving emails from Exact (e.g., for password setup or 2FA configuration). This is often caused by so-called greylisting, a security measure implemented on your email server.

Tip: If you do not receive the email within a few minutes, please contact your internal IT department and ask them to check the mail server settings and, if necessary, allow emails from support@exactonline.nl and noreply@exact.com
If Exact is not being affected by greylisting on your side, please contact support@itscope.com for further assistance.

Why am I being logged out automatically?

An automatic logout can occur for several reasons:

  • Standby mode or network disconnection: If your computer goes into standby mode or your internet connection is lost, your session may expire.
  • Inactive browser tabs: If a tab remains unused for an extended period, the session may be terminated for security reasons.
  • Session timeout: After 5 minutes of inactivity (300 seconds), your session will end automatically to protect your data.

Why doesn’t “Remember 2FA for 7 days” always work?

In the following cases, this setting is ignored, and you will be prompted to enter your second factor again:

  • You are using a different device or operating system
  • Your IP address has changed (e.g., due to a different network location or internet provider – this will most likely happen when you switch between company site and home office / remote workspace)
  • You are using a different browser or an incognito window
  • Your login has been classified as security-critical, e.g., due to unusual behavior

Tip: If you experience issues, using a VPN with a static IP address may help improve recognition.

How many times can I enter the code incorrectly?

  • You have up to 7 attempts. After that, you will be redirected to the ITscope login page.

How can I reset my second factor?

  • First, please log out from ITscope.com.
  • Then log in again by entering your email address and password.
  • When the input screen for the second factor appears (see screenshot), click the link that says “Reset two-factor authentication”.
