Below, you will find detailed explanations of the most important terms related to the topic \u2018purchasing in ITscope\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Purchasing board<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Term<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Explanation<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Purchasing board<\/td><td>On the ITscope platform, the <em>purchasing board<\/em>&nbsp;is the generic term for the whole procurement area of your company. It can be accessed via the <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/areas\/\">main menu<\/a> on the left-hand side under the menu item <em>&#8216;Purchasing board&#8217;.<\/em><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>(Shopping) cart<\/td><td>The&nbsp;<em>purchasing board<\/em> is divided into multiple <em>(shopping) carts<\/em>. The &#8216;<em>General cart&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;is designed to be used by all users in your company. In addition to this general cart, you can create as many further shopping carts as you want to.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Supplier card<\/td><td>When adding <em>items&nbsp;<\/em>to you <em>shopping cart<\/em>, they are allocated to the <em>supplier<\/em> that you have selected. Each cart therefore contains one <em>supplier card<\/em> per supplier. Each of these cards then contains one or more <em>line&nbsp;<\/em><em>items<\/em>. The supplier cards illustrate which items are allocated to which suppliers. This allocation can be modified at any time by dragging and dropping an item into a different supplier card, by selecting a different supplier via the <em>price selection menu<\/em>, or by selecting a different supplier through the &#8216;<em>Sources of supply&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;tab in the context menu on the right.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Price selection menu<\/td><td>The <em>price selection menu <\/em>expands upon clicking on the arrow displayed next to the price of a <em>shopping cart item<\/em>. From here, the&nbsp;<em>source of supply<\/em> can be changed&nbsp;taking into account stock levels, list prices and quoted prices.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Supplier\/Distributor\/Source of supply<\/td><td>The terms &#8216;<em>Supplier&#8217;<\/em>, &#8216;<em>Distributor&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;and &#8216;<em>Source of supply&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;refer to the company where&nbsp;<em>items can be purchased&nbsp;<\/em>from. The terms are used interchangeably across the ITscope platform.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Item<\/td><td>An <em>Item&nbsp;<\/em>in your cart is a product distinctly identifiable by EAN, SKU or ITscope ID.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Line item<\/td><td>An <em>item<\/em>&nbsp;in a cart can often be referred to as a&nbsp;<em>line item<\/em>&nbsp;(also: &#8216;<em>demand line item&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;or &#8216;<em>order line item&#8217;<\/em>). <em>Items<\/em> can appear several times as <em>line items<\/em>, as the same product can be sent to different customers, for example.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>General cart<\/td><td>The <em>general cart<\/em> is designed to be used by all users in your company and is always visible for every user.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>My carts<\/td><td>Selecting the &#8216;<em>My carts&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;filter, in the header area, will only show the carts which you are responsible for. The g<em>eneral cart<\/em>&nbsp;is always part of this selection. In addition to this, all carts can be filtered by &#8216;<em>Assigned user&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;and their archive status (under &#8216;<em>All carts&#8217;<\/em>).<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Create cart<\/td><td>You can add a new shopping cart by clicking the button &#8216;<em>Create cart&#8217;<\/em>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Prepared orders<\/td><td>Each <em>shopping cart<\/em> has a middle column labelled &#8216;<em>Prepared orders&#8217;<\/em>. In this column, you can prepare your orders for final submission to the <em>distributor<\/em>. Here you can select the delivery address and mode of dispatch (e.g. <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/partial-delivery-and-drop-shipment\/\">partial delivery and drop shipment<\/a>), and double-check your order.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Placed orders<\/td><td>Each <em>shopping car<\/em>t has a &#8216;<em>Placed orders&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;column on the right-hand side. In this column, you can see the status of all your orders (e.g. &#8216;<em>Dispatched&#8217;<\/em>, &#8216;<em>Arrived&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;or &#8216;<em>Invoiced&#8217;<\/em>), unless they are archived. Simply drag and drop a&nbsp;<em>prepared order<\/em>&nbsp;from the middle column into this field to place the order.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Archived orders<\/td><td>Placed orders can be hidden by clicking on the &#8216;<em>Archive&#8217;&nbsp;<\/em>button. These orders won\u2019t be displayed in the &#8216;<em>Placed orders&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;column any longer. However, you can access your archived orders anytime using the search bar.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Quick access<\/td><td>&nbsp; The <em>quick access<\/em> section is located below the main menu on the left-hand side. This section can be configured according to your requirements. Collections, quotes, <em>shopping carts<\/em> and cart <em>line items<\/em> can be viewed here. <em>Items<\/em> can also easily be added to a shopping cart in the quick access area by drag and drop.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Price optimisation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Term<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Explanation<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manual<\/td><td>The &#8216;<em>Manual<\/em>&#8216;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/shopping-cart-optimisation\/\">optimisation mode<\/a>&nbsp;retains&nbsp;the allocation of products to the sources of supply as it was initially created by adding products to the shopping cart.&nbsp;If you manually change the supplier of an item, then this will be reflected in the &#8216;<em>Manual<\/em>&#8216; optimisation.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Best partner partner<\/td><td>The &#8216;<em>Best price partner<\/em>&#8216; optimisation attempts to assign all <em>items<\/em> from the order to <em>suppliers<\/em> that are part of your&nbsp;partner network.&nbsp;<em>Items<\/em> that are not available from your partners remain with their manually assigned <em>supplier(s)<\/em>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Best price<\/td><td>This optimisation mode is similar to &#8216;<em>Best price partner<\/em>&#8216;,&nbsp;with the distinction that <em>items<\/em> are allocated irrespective of <em>supplier<\/em> partner status.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Minimum sources<\/td><td>This optimisation variant reduces the number of different <em>suppliers<\/em> to a minimum.&nbsp;Partners in your network are preferred, but non-partners are also considered as a backup option.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Placing orders<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Term<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Explanation<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Prepare order<\/td><td>By dragging and dropping a <em>supplier card<\/em> from your <em>shopping cart<\/em>&nbsp;into the &#8216;<em>Prepared orders<\/em>&#8216; column,&nbsp;you are preparing the order for final placement. In this column, you can determine further details regarding your order (e.g. delivery address and mode of dispatch) and double-check your order. A supplier card can also be moved to the &#8216;<em>Prepared orders&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;column by clicking the &#8216;<em>Prepare order<\/em>&#8216;&nbsp;button on the <em>supplier card<\/em>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Order preview<\/td><td>As soon as a <em>supplier card<\/em> is in the &#8216;<em>Prepared orders<\/em>&#8216; column, it becomes an <em>order preview<\/em>. To&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/placing-orders\/\">place the order<\/a>, the card has to be moved to the &#8216;<em>Placed orders&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;column on the right-hand side of the <em>cart<\/em>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>This supplier has no order service.<\/td><td>You will receive this notification if a supplier has not activated the &#8216;Order&#8217; eService, meaning that you cannot order from this <em>distributor<\/em>&nbsp;online through ITscope.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>The eService &#8216;Place order&#8217; is only available after you have registered your partnership. <\/td><td>This notification indicates that a certain <em>supplier<\/em> only accepts <em>orders<\/em> from registered customers. You may configure your partnership by clicking on the &#8216;Companies&#8217; tab in the <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/areas\/\">main menu<\/a> on the left. Simply click on the &#8216;Add to network&#8217; button on the respective supplier\u2019s page. Then add your customer number and confirm by selecting &#8216;Add to network&#8217;.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>You don\u2019t have sufficient rights to place an order.<\/td><td>This notification is issued if the \u2018place orders\u2019 right has not been activated for you. To <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/employee-user-rights\/\">receive ordering rights<\/a>, please consult your ITscope administrator or the owner of your ITscope company account.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context area<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Term<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Explanation<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Context area<\/td><td>The <em>context area<\/em>&nbsp;is located on the right-hand side of the platform and may be expanded or hidden as required. It is composed of the following tabs: &#8216;<em>Activities&#8217;<\/em>, &#8216;<em>Sources of supply&#8217;<\/em>, &#8216;<em>Source details&#8217;<\/em>, &#8216;<em>Product details&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;and &#8216;<em>Price enquiry<\/em><em>&nbsp;details&#8217;.&nbsp;<\/em>This section provides detailed, contextual information about the <em>items <\/em>in your <em>shopping carts<\/em>, <em>distributors <\/em>and <em>price enquiries<\/em>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/activities\/\">Activities<\/a><\/td><td>The &#8216;<em>Activities&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;stream shows all activities that have taken place regarding the selected <em>shopping cart<\/em>. When clicking on a&nbsp;<em>supplier card<\/em>, only activities concerning the respective card are displayed.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Sources of supply<\/td><td>All distributors that have a certain <em>item&nbsp;<\/em>in stock are listed under the &#8216;<em>Sources of supply&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;tab. If you have received price <em>quotes<\/em> in response to <em>price enquiries<\/em>, then these prices will be displayed above the other sources of supply.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Source details<\/td><td>&#8216;<em>Source details&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;provides detailed information regarding the supplier that is currently allocated to an item.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Product details<\/td><td>The tab &#8216;<em>Product details&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;offers an overview of product properties, article numbers and <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.itscope.com\/en\/kb\/product-datasheets-and-content-provider-selection-priority-2\/\">datasheets<\/a>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Price enquiry details<\/td><td>The current state of a <em>price enquiry<\/em>&nbsp;can be viewed under &#8216;<em>price enquiry<\/em><em>&nbsp;details&#8217;<\/em>.
